Plastics processes from voxeljet for investment casting applications

3D printing with polymer based materials is the ideal solution for the cost-effective and time-saving production of investment casting models. The models are created by the layered application of a particle material that is selectively bonded with a binder. As the particle material, PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), an acrylic plastic with excellent burnout properties, is used. Complex components up to a length of 1,000 mm can thus be produced quickly and easily.

  • No shell breakage due to negative thermal expansion coefficients
